How You Can Help Shake the World for Christ
I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
I hear the question quite often, “Why are there so many different denominations of Christianity today?” It’s a valid point. In fact, I saw recently that there are over 41,000 different Christian denominations in the world, each of them claiming to be the most appropriate expression of the faith.
Now I’m not going to tell you the Christian Church doesn’t have problems, because we do. But I will say that I’ve seen more unity in the Church in recent years than in the past 500 years of Church history. Our faith is slowly but surely coming together.
One big reason this is happening is simply because people are more willing than ever to agree on what’s important and lay aside the non-negotiables of the faith. We have differing views on issues like the process of sanctification and the second coming of Jesus, but are together when it comes to the very important things like salvation by faith alone and the deity of Christ.
So when it comes to people from other stripes of our faith, be quick to find areas of agreement. A unified church is a powerful church, and it’s the kind of church Jesus wants us to be. Put aside your differences and be one with the Body. A unified church is one that can shake the world!
HELP THE CHURCH IMPACT THE WORLD BY WORKING TOGETHER WITH PEOPLE ACROSS THE SPECTRUM OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH.
