SOS
by Berni Dymet

Psalm 25:4-5 Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.  Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long.

Dit dit dit dah dah dah dit dit dit

That's Morse code - Dit dit dit dah dah dah dit dit dit - it spells out SOS - save our souls.

Before radio communications as we know them today - ships used Morse Code - and SOS was the emergency signal.

Dit dit dit dah dah dah dit dit dit

I see a lot of people floundering and crying out - they don't use Morse code these days.  They use drugs.  Or money.  Or violence.

Sometimes extreme and loud.  Other times just a quiet sobbing inside.

I used to wonder why those Christians called Jesus their Saviour.  What a weird name I used to think.  Until one day - I felt that same thing happening in my heart.

Dit dit dit dah dah dah dit dit dit

Doesn't mean I was a loser.  I just think there's this God sized hole in each one of us.  This huge emptiness - and however much we try to deny it - there's only one way to fill it.

Dit dit dit dah dah dah dit dit dit
