I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ graves, that I may rebuild it.”

--Nehemiah 2:5

Do you have a burden to make a difference in the lives of others? Can you think of anything specific you know the Lord wants you to do for someone in your life?

Nehemiah had a very specific mission to accomplish. He wanted to go back home and rebuild the battered walls of Jerusalem. He had a passion for this work, and he sought the Lord in prayer for guidance and preparation.

As Christians, we have a specific mission from the Lord—to reach others for Him. Following through on this mission is often difficult because it may require us to leave our everyday comfort zone. Most Christians are more interested in being comfortable than they are in reaching the spiritually lost!

We should have a passion for nonbelievers like the passion Nehemiah displayed in chapter two of the book that bears his name.

Do you have a plan of action for today and the day after? We have a mission from the Lord, so pray for a passion to reach others today. Then be ready for opportunities to impact the world around you for Christ!

PRAY FOR A PASSION TO REACH OTHERS FOR CHRIST.
