And next to him the men of Jericho built. And next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.

--Nehemiah 3:2

The third chapter of Nehemiah gives us a key component to any successful endeavor that Christians attempt: cooperation.

Nehemiah organized many different people to help him rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. Even though these people were from different countries, backgrounds, and ethnic groups, they worked toward a common goal.

Instead of bickering with one another or questioning Nehemiah, they banded together behind a man who had a God-given mission. And God enabled them to accomplish building the wall of Jerusalem.

Cooperation is a key to spiritual growth for churches and families. Both must join together as a team, seeking the same goal and following the same leader. When this happens, there’s no limit to what God can accomplish!

When it comes to your family and church, I want to ask you: Are you a team player? Or do you tend to question and bicker?
