Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. --2 Timothy 3:12

Christianity has become comfortable for too many people today. It’s easy to be a “Sunday morning Christian” and live like the world the rest of the week.

While most believers in America don’t face physical persecution for their faith, what this verse affirms is that Christianity is not easy. If you stand for Christ, you will be spiritually attacked and your faith will be tested.

If you are a true believer, you may not be accepted in every circle because you won’t compromise your beliefs… and you may not get invited to hang out in certain places with your co-workers because they know what you stand for.

But if your faith is genuine, then the persecution and spiritual attacks you face from the world won’t matter. Just remember that a true Christian is someone who:

  • Has made a choice to follow Jesus Christ,
  • Is continually being transformed by God,
  • And is challenged to pick up his or her cross daily and follow the Lord no matter the cost.

Have you made the decision to follow Christ? If so, I want to challenge you today to let Him continually transform your attitude and actions so that the world will see in you what a true Christian really is.

IF YOUR FAITH IS GENUINE, THE PERSECUTION AND SPIRITUAL ATTACKS YOU FACE FROM THE WORLD WON’T MATTER.
