…looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

--Hebrews 12:2

Today, I’d like to challenge you with this thought: When life starts to get you down, you need to look up!

Verse after verse in Scripture reminds us of the Lord Jesus’ presence in our lives. Yet so often how we forget what God’s Word says!

  • In 2 Chronicles 20:12, Jehoshaphat prays, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
  • In Psalm 16:8, David says, “I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”
  • And the writer of Hebrews reminds us in today’s verse to look “to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Perhaps you’d admit that you’ve never looked to Jesus before when life’s gotten you down. Maybe you’ve never made a commitment to make Him the Lord and Savior of your life.
