For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

--Romans 8:38-39

The greatest sentence ever uttered was spoken by Jesus Christ in John 3:16 when He said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” These life-giving words were spoken to a man named Nicodemus.

Nicodemus was like a lot of people in the church today. He knew a lot about God—he pursued God, he championed God, and he pleased God in a lot of ways. Yet Nicodemus had a longing for a relationship with God. This is what led him to engage Jesus in conversation.

And Nicodemus reacted to Jesus in a way that a lot of people react to Jesus. He thought it sounded too good to be true!

Have you ever had that same thought yourself?

When it comes to accepting Jesus Christ’s love and acceptance of you, the devil wants to make you believe that you’re too far gone… that your sin is too great for God to really ever love you… or that you’ve committed the same sin too many times for God to accept you again.

But nothing could be further from the truth! You’re never too far gone for God to love you.

When you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, your sins—past, present, and future—were taken care of at the cross. So please don’t let Satan weigh you down with guilt about your sins and failures.

Yes, your sins have consequences. But God loving you isn’t one of them!

GOD LOVES YOU AND ACCEPTS YOU IN SPITE OF what you’ve done.
