And now, please let Me tell you what I will do to My vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be burned; and break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down. (Isaiah 5:5)

What does this phrase, “take the hedges down” mean? My answer is, “I don’t know and don’t want to know.” No one should ever want to live with the hedge of God’s protection around them torn down. People often say that experience is the best teacher, but this is an experience that you should not want as a lesson. In fact, no person could stand if His hedge came down. If God removed His hand of love, mercy, and protection from around us, no one would survive a day.
