Message Summary: By January 2016, 57 million babies were killed because of abortion in the US since Roe v. Wade!
Abortion is the greatest moral issue of our time, and we must not keep silent! We must continue, as in Jesus' parable (Luke 18:1-8) of the "Unrighteous Judge, to "knock on the door" and to demand change. We are sacrificing our children to convenience, materialism, and sex. Also, human body parts, from the abortions, are harvested for sale.
In addition to the pain inflicted by abortion on the unborn human, the pain, after an abortion for the participating mother and father, may last for their lifetime. This participatory pain is forgiven by Salvation through the blood of Jesus and the Repentance of abortion participants; but this pain often takes years or even a lifetime to diminish.
From Psalms 139:13-16, we know that God is intimately involved in each new creation in the womb: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.". Now, with our scientific advances such as sonograms, we can watch this formation of a human child’s life from conception until birth.
Man is made in God's image, and human life is precious and sacred. From the Nicene Creed, we commit that "we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life". Our God is a creator God; new life is not an accident. Let us NOT STOP asking God to end abortion; and let's continue knocking on the doors, as in Luke 18:3-5, to demand justice for the lives of all unborn humans because our God is a faithful God that brings justice: “And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’”.
Keep on praying to the Lord for His mercy for our sins of killing unborn children through abortions in which we, in our elective democracy, have been complicit. Also, we must pray to Lord for His help in eliminating this sin of abortion against His Word. At the same time, we must “keep on knocking” on the doors of our institutions, including our governments and churches, that both condone and facilitate abortion. Keep on knocking for our God is faithful, and He will answer our prayers.
Today’s Affirmation: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Inadequacy. Rather, I will abide in the Lord’s Abundance. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
