Just Say It!

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit…and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel…that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”       Ephesians 6:18-20 (NKJV

When it comes to boldness it seems some people have more than their share.  Then there are those who are so shy, they can hardly speak to anyone.  The main culprit; intimidation!  Satan loves to use that tool to keep us silent.  As Christians there are many wonderful things that need to be shared, but if there is no boldness then that will be too much of a challenge for some.

Throughout his years of ministry, Paul had realized that some words had little or no impact, while other words were powerful….and he knew that prayer could make a difference.  We have all experienced those people who are constantly talking, but saying nothing.  Paul wanted to speak in a very effective way.  He wanted his words to be anointed by the Spirit and clearly understood.  He wanted to speak with great conviction and boldness.

Without boldness, our words don’t carry very much weight.  Often it’s not what we say as much as it is how we say it. But, don’t get me wrong, what you say is certainly important too. Knowing that he needed boldness, Paul ask the Ephesians to pray for him, that he would speak the right words and deliver them in the right spirit, with nothing less than maximum impact.  He desired to open his mouth “boldly” defined as, speaking with freedom, being confident and fearless.

Where does this measure up with you?  Do you consider yourself to be bold or timid?  Are you often frustrated because you walk away from a conversation feeling defeated and thinking, “that’s not what I wanted to say?”  I can remember years ago being so much afraid of what people thought of me, that I was completely withdrawn.  I felt so intimidated by others that it literally kept me from moving forward.  I think now, some of the things I am doing could have been accomplished earlier in my life had I learned how to overcome and step out boldly.  And the thing was, I had the desire for boldness in my heart, but it was locked away by the tactics of Satan.

If you need boldness today, then ask the Lord to help you.  His Spirit changes our deepest and more impossible weaknesses.  You have much to share, and in sharing your testimony whether that be your victories or even defeats, there are people that could be empowered by the words that you speak into them.   Like Paul, let boldness be your goal that will help you overcome those fears and speak what God puts in to your spirit.  Just say it!!

You are an over comer by the words of your testimony!
