The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) is the large annual gathering where Teaching Elders and Ruling Elders from the churches across the denomination gather to study, discuss, and decide biblical, theological, ecclesiastical, and ministry issues and programs. The agenda of the Assembly’s business includes a wide variety of matters important to the life of the church and the progress of the gospel.

One of the faster growing denominations in the United States, the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) has over 1700 churches and missions throughout the USA and Canada, with over 340,000 members.

The PCA holds to “Reformed” doctrine, believing that the purest expressions of the truths of the Bible are found in the Calvinistic creeds, particularly the Westminster Confession of Faith.

The PCA's representative form of church government is rooted in its name -- presbyterian. Local churches are governed by elders (presbyters) elected by the church members. This system of government extends through regional presbyteries to the General Assembly, demonstrating the PCA's connectionalism and the bond of union among all the churches.
