Acts 19:9-10
And he [Paul] went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God. But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.
Paul did not take it upon himself to argue with those whose hearts were hardened toward the Gospel. Likewise, we should never argue with anyone about the validity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our job is just to speak the Word of God; it is up to the Holy Spirit to do the persuading. There is no need for you to have to prove your faith since time will reveal the authenticity of the Gospel. Besides, you can not prove faith even if you tried because faith is based upon what you believe. If the person doesn’t first believe, then they will never be able to see the reality of faith. So when people try to start an argument with you about the Gospel, do like Paul – leave them alone!
