6. Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."

Acts 3:6.

Peter said, "What I do have…," so Peter obviously had something to give -- and he knew it! What was it that Peter had to give? Peter had the authority of the name of Jesus, and he used it to give this man begging for alms the ability to earn silver and gold for himself! So, as you can see, the authority Peter had to use the name of Jesus proved far more valuable to this lame man than mere silver or gold. If Peter had just given him silver and gold, he would still have needed to beg outside the temple gates.

As Believers, we have been given this same authority to set the captives free. Just as Peter used the name of Jesus to stand in Jesus’ place to bring healing to the lame man at the Gate Beautiful, so are we to use the name of Jesus to continue Jesus’ work of glorifying the Father here in the earth realm. We have been given something far more valuable than silver and gold, we have been given the authority to transact kingdom business here on earth. We must not take this awesome privilege lightly!
