Blessed to Be a Blessing
Genesis 12:1-3 (NKJV)
1. Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.
2. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
3. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Before God blessed Abraham, Abraham was not able to be a blessing. But once God came on the scene in Abraham’s life, Abraham became a means for all the families of the earth to be blessed. As sons and daughters of Abraham by faith, we are supposed to be a blessing to others as well. But how can we bless others if we are not blessed ourselves? We certainly cannot give what we do not have! So, as Christians, we must be willing to receive the blessings of God and then be looking for ways to use these blessings to bless others. God wants us blessed so that we can be a blessing!
