Give With The Right Attitude

 

 

2 Corinthians 9:7.(NKJV)

7. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

 

Your giving should not be based on perceived need, but according to how you are led by the Holy Spirit. People often have needs because they are disobeying the Word of the Lord -- and you do not want to be an accessory to their crime by providing a means for them to continue in such disobedience! So, you must always check out and discern why a need is a need before you give. Otherwise, you may be giving to someone or to some cause that is out of the will of God.

 

Remember, the Lord calls you to be a good steward over what He has entrusted to you, and someday you will have to give an account of your stewardship. Therefore, be sure your giving is based upon what is right and not on what is nice by following the leading of the Holy Spirit.
