He Is The Lord That Healed You

 

 

Psalms 107:1-3 (NKJV)

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.

 

From these scriptures, it is obvious there is a discrepancy between the traditionally-held idea that God is the One Who makes us sick for some divine purpose. If God is the One Who makes us sick as well as the One Who heals all our diseases, we have a problem. Healing cancels out disease and sickness, and whatever benefit God had in mind for making us sick is lost! One of God’s redemptive names is, "Jehovah-Rapha" which means "I am the Lord your physician" or "I am the Lord who heals you." Psalms 103:1-3 clearly shows that God is not in the business of making us sick. God is the healer, not the afflictor - even though He has been accused of it traditionally.
