Honor and Integrity
Psalms 15:1-5 (NKJV)
1. LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
2. He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;
3. He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;
4. In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the LORD; He who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
5. He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
To speak the truth can sometimes be painful. All through our lives we will have opportunities to lie. Many times it is when we are under pressure that we would be tempted to do so. What keeps us focused on maintaining our character? Integrity. Integrity is what keeps us honest. You will face adversity, but if you do not faint, in that day of evil, you will develop a godly characteristic that will forever bless your life. Maintain your communication with your Heavenly Father and continue to feed your spirit with the word so that you will not give in in the day of evil. Doing right is easy when there is no pressure. How do you handle decisions under pressure? As you grow spiritually, your faith will increase and your integrity and honor will mature. Choose to be an honorable person today. It will affect your whole life and those who are the closest to you.
