Let Your Yes Be Yes

 

Proverbs 16:25 (NKJV):

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

 

In God’s economy, there is no such thing as situational ethics. Jesus, Himself, said that we are to let our “Yes be Yes” and our “No be No, for whatever is more than these is from the evil one" (Matthew 5:37).  So we know that situational ethics is not of God. With the Lord, distinguishing the right from the wrong is very clear. What matters is not what seems right, but what God in His Word says is right. It really is as simple as that. Everything else only leads to the way of death.
