Natural vs. Spirit
1 Corinthians 2:14. (NKJV)
14. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Trying to consult your natural senses for evidence that a prayer your have prayed has been granted is as ridiculous as trying to use your ears to smell! Why? Because just as perfume is non-existent to your sense of hearing, what you have by faith is non-existent to all of your five natural senses. Faith is an attribute of your recreated spirit that cannot be perceived by your natural senses. It is what your spirit uses to contact God. Since your natural man cannot perceive faith, it does not have the capacity to understand the things of God.
So, this scripture is letting you know that you cannot ever afford to allow your senses, the "natural side of you," to dictate the terms of your blessings and your relationship with your heavenly Father. You have to learn to rely upon God’s Word and what you know in your heart that is in line with the Word of God.
