Obedience To God's WORD

 

 

 

Luke 5:4-7. (NKJV)

 

When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net." And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink..

 

Jesus had told Simon Peter to let down his nets, so Peter let down a single net. Peter’s response was a lot like some of ours. We don’t want to doubt the Word of God, but we do not really believe it either. So, we let down a single net when God has told us to let down all of our nets. Then we wonder why we have trouble receiving the full blessings of God.

 

Our heavenly Father wants to bless us exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ask or even think. But, if we are not obedient to do His Word, then we will not be prepared to receive all that He has for us. It is truly an awesome thought to know that you actually control God’s ability to bless you by your obedience to His Word.
