Obey The Truth

 

 

 

I Peter 1:22-23 (NKJV)

 

22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,

 

23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.

 

The born-again experience is what gives us the purity of heart. The precious blood of Jesus is what cleanses and washes white as snow. Our spirits become born again. Through this born-again experience, He has given us the right and privilege to call God our Father. We are His children.

 

But, if our minds are not renewed to this right and privilege, we will continue to walk and live according to our old way of living. The Bible calls it, the old man.

 

The purification of the soul (mind) comes through not merely renewing our minds, but furthermore, obeying the truth. As we obey the truth of the Word of God, it will purify our soul. The results of a purified soul will be love, peace and joy. There is no greater love, peace or joy, than to have right relationship with the Father. He is our life and the source of life. When you are one with Him, you will experience fullness of joy.
