Our Prayer Must Be In Faith
Matthew 6:7,8 (NKJV)
7. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.8. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
To pray with many words and repetitiously is to pray without faith. In these verses, Jesus encourages us to look to our Father to supply our need and not to seek it from the arm of flesh. It is evident that they desired to be heard by the people, but why? When Jesus stated that we are not to use "vain repetitions as the heathen do" He is referring to us looking to men to supply our need. This is why they desired to be heard by men. Our Father desires for us to have complete trust in Him. When you pray, be sure that you pray according to what the Bible says. Pray in line with what the Word of God says. When you do, you will know that He hears you, and in knowing this, there will be no doubt that could negatively affect your mind. As a Father, He already knows what you have need of, all we must do is pray, believe, confess and thank Him for what He has already provided for us. As long as our prayer is in line with God's word, we have nothing to fear.
