Positive Confession
Romans 10:8-10 (NKJV)
8. But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
9. that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The wise Christian will make a habit of making a positive confession based upon God's Word. I realize that usually in our society, the word confession is associated with something negative, such as confessing a crime. But in the New Testament, the word literally means "to say what God says-to agree with what God says about you." This principle is so vital to the body of Christ, yet it has been a lost principle through the years. Satan has very cleverly devised a scheme to keep it out of the Body of Christ. In fact, periodically, there are those who make fun, shoot it down, or call it false doctrine. They talk about the "Name it and Claim It bunch," referring to people like me who teach on this law of positive confession. In order for faith to grow in you, you must hear the word of God. Every time you confess the word, you are hearing the word. Keep your confessing the Word and watch your faith increase.
