Possess The Land
Joshua 1:1-3. (NKJV)
1. After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying:
2. "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them; the children of Israel.
3. "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses."
The Promised Land was given to the children of Israel 40 years before they actually went in and possessed this land. Just think -- they went without for 40 years and spent their lives wandering in the desert, all because they refused to take what God had already given to them.
Likewise, you must be willing to accept what the Lord has for you before you will ever receive it. You cannot just say, "If it is God’s will, He will get it to me." NO! Your receiving what God has for you is your responsibility. Just because it is God’s will does not make it automatic. You have to decide to possess what God has for you regardless of the way things look, just as the children of Israel had to possess the Promised Land regardless of the appearance of the inhabitants of the land. Until you do, you will be wasting precious time wandering needlessly about in the deserts of life.
