The Power of Words 

 

Proverbs 6:2 (NKJV):

You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.

 

Words dominate us. Whether positive or negative, words control our lives. This is why we must be extremely careful to guard our tongues, especially when bad thoughts come to mind. Know that bad thoughts come to us all. It is not that these thoughts come to us, but what we do with them when they do. Thoughts that are never spoken or acted upon will die unborn. It’s not until we give a thought voice and act on it that Satan has an open door into our lives.  

 

Unfortunately, all too often we choose to meditate on the bad thoughts Satan sends us, rather than meditating on the Word of God. We need to be cognizant of the fact that whatever we give the most attention to is what we are going to end up saying and doing. So, to avoid opening any doors to Satan, we must immediately rebuke any bad thought that comes to us and replace it with the Word of God. Then we will have the victory.
