The Way
Acts 19:23. (NKJV)
23.And about that time there arose a great commotion about the Way.
When you are asked what "faith" you are, do you say the name of the church or denomination you belong to or do you say you are a Christian? "The Way" was a term used to refer to Christianity during the time that the Gospels were recorded. It lets us know that the early church saw Christianity as a way of living – not just a religion, a social club, a family tradition, or an identification tag. For the early Believers, their belief in Jesus as the Christ permeated every aspect of their life to the point where their lives were a testimony to others of the saving power of Jesus. The same should be true of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ today. Unfortunately, far too many Christians identify more with the particular denomination or church they attend than they do with Jesus Christ Himself!
