"Then Gideon said to God, "Do not be angry with me, but let me speak just once more: Let me test, I pray, just once more with the fleece; let it now be dry only on the fleece, but on all the ground let there be dew." -Judges 6:39

A lot of Christians want to do like Gideon; they want God to prove Himself to them before they will believe His Word. But, as Christians, we have been born again; Christ dwells in our hearts by faith. We have to use the measure of faith we have been given (Romans 12:3 KJV). The reason why the Old Testament records so many supernatural acts of God is because Jesus had yet to come so they could receive Him by faith. These people had to "walk by sight" -- by the circumstances. But we don’t. Thank God we can rise above the circumstances because we have all the assurance we need in God’s Word. God expects us to "Walk by faith and not by sight." So, if we try to put a fleece out, we are going to get fleeced!
