Tribulations Will Come, But Be Of Good Cheer

John 16:33 (NKJV)

33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

In this verse in the Gospel of John, Jesus makes an important statement that we must take to heart. He tells us that we will have tribulations. Another way to say it is trials or tests. Because we live in this world, we will have trials or tribulations. But Jesus did not stop there. He tells us to be of good cheer or be strong. Why can we be of good cheer in troubled times? Jesus also answered that question. He said that He, meaning Jesus, overcame the world. There is still evil present in the world today but for believers in Jesus, we have overcome the evil through or because of what Jesus did for us .

We have authority to use the name of Jesus. That is how we overcome and why we can have peace even in a troubled world during times of tribulations or trials!
