We Have A New Commandment

 

 

 

John 13:34,35 (NKJV)

 

34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

 

35 "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

 

How did Jesus love us? By giving His life for us. We literally are preaching the gospel to the world whenever we love each other. God would not ask us to do something that He knew we were not capable of doing. This is a reasonable request. In exercising this fruit of our human spirit, we are doing what Jesus asked us to do. One of the highest forms of worship is obedience. If you really want to show God how much you love Him, you will obey His Word. Jesus said, "love one another, as I have loved you." The gospels gives us an account of how Jesus loved us. If we are to obey His command, we must take the time to find out how Jesus loved us. When Jesus walked the earth in His body, He commanded the disciples to follow Him. If you are a born again Christian, He is commanding us to do the same thing. Follow Him, live the love walk.
