You Were Healed

 

 

I Peter 2:24 (NKJV)

24 Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

 

If you know anything about elementary English, you know that the word "were" is a past tense term, and is indicative of the fact that the time of action has already taken place. It is not taking place, it is not going to take place, it is already an accomplished fact! "Were healed." If God says I am healed with Jesus' stripes, then either I am healed or God is a liar. If I was, I am. And If I am, I is. That is not good English, but the word "is" says you know that we are talking about N-O-W, NOW! We are healed NOW!
