November 16, 2022 – Do You Worship During the Week?

John 4:24

Sermon: 1971 Give Him Glory, part 2

Pray Over This

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:24

Ponder This

There is something significant about our coming together to worship. The significance of coming to church is not primarily that we bring ourselves to worship but that we bring our worship to church. We have been with the Lord all week long. When we come together—all of us full of God—we don’t come here to get filled up; we’re already full of God. We come to celebrate together.

What are you saying about your life when you come to church to worship? You’re saying, “God is important to me,” and you’re saying, “God’s people are important to me.” That’s why we do not forsake “the assembling of ourselves together” (Hebrews 10:25), but we exhort one another. We encourage each other with the sermon, songs, and every piece of our gathering.

This worship continues through the rest of your week. Every day is a holy day, and every ground is sacred ground. But we still assemble as brothers and sisters in Christ, bringing our worship to the Lord and encouraging one another.

  • How are you “filling up” in your relationship with Christ during the week?
  • What value have you seen in corporate worship?

Practice This

Encourage your pastor or other leaders in your church; thank them for how they serve others as they worship.
