Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. - Revelation 21:1

Do you believe in heaven? What do you think it is like? Do you imagine yourself sitting on a pink, damp cloud, playing a harp? What sort of a place is it?

Heaven is a pretty place. Revelation 22:2 tells us fruit never fades there. I’m always sad when I see the plants fade in my garden. I will never see them fade in heaven.

Heaven is a permanent place. The builder and maker is God, and Christ is the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). Heaven is forever because God is forever. It is a permanent place, filled with permanent people.

No one will ever die in this painless place—no one is ever sick (Revelation 21:4)! Can you imagine a place where there is no more suffering? Our sorry world needs to hear about a place like that!

Lastly, it is a perfect place. The perfect Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, lives there, and no sin will be allowed to enter heaven (Revelation 21:8). If sin entered heaven, it wouldn’t be heaven anymore!

“We haven’t any idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Thomas asked (John 14:5). Jesus answered him: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Do you want to go to heaven? Ask Jesus about it. Ask him to forgive your sin. If you do, heaven will come down and fill your soul!
