2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

I do love a good war movie, whether it is the Turner Classics in black and white, or the modern ones with great technology. I do not mind, because I love to see how far weaponry and technology have progressed. They are all based on the ability of man, and good science. However, when it comes to the battle of life, we can't walk around blowing up people, or being a sniper and taking them out from a distance!

Our weapons as Christians, comes from God and therefore the battle is spiritual. We must know what we possess in our spiritual armory.  God has given us the ability to know what a stronghold is- its a place that has been fortified against attack. You immediately get the visual of a castle. The walls are thick and usually un-penetrable. You have to have superior weapons to breakthrough the boundaries or walls that have been built up.

God tells us that if we use the weapon of the spirit that comes directly from him, we can bring every thought into the captivity or control of the Lord. When we take down the strongholds we bring them into obedience of our God and that will bring victory for everybody.
