Pastor Mat Nadworny is the Founding and Lead Pastor of Great Rock Church (GRC) in Danvers,

Massachusetts. In 2005, following God’s leading, Pastor Mat began the ministry with just ten

people meeting in his home in Saugus, MA. Over the past two decades, GRC has experienced

steady growth and transformation, moving from a hotel conference room to a storefront, then to a

small chapel (now the church’s thrift store), and ultimately purchasing seven acres of land

strategically located near Rt. 114, Rt. 1, and I-95. After a five-year building process, the church

opened its current facility at 256 Andover Street in December 2017.

Pastor Mat currently teaches two Sunday morning services and a midweek Wednesday evening

service, all centered on exalting the Lord Jesus Christ through contemporary worship and verse-

by-verse, expository preaching.

Beyond Sunday services, Pastor Mat has a passion for community outreach across Boston’s

North Shore. GRC hosts a weekly addiction recovery meeting grounded in biblical teaching and,

in 2012, launched a six-month residential discipleship program for men struggling with drug and

alcohol addiction—producing over 100 graduates to date. In 2017, he founded a construction

company to help graduates gain practical carpentry skills and job placement, and opened a

church-run thrift store, which operates six days a week.

Pastor Mat also teaches college-level Bible courses open to the public and produces daily radio

programs on WEZE (590 AM) and RENEW FM (103.7 & 102.1) in Boston. His weekly podcast

addresses difficult and controversial topics from a biblical perspective, and he has authored

devotionals covering nearly every book of the Bible.

With the partnership of Pastor Igor Alexis, Associate Pastor at GRC, Mat’s ministry extends far

beyond New England. Together with the GRC leadership team, they’ve launched numerous

outreach initiatives in Haiti, including a pastor training program, a soup kitchen that feeds 5,000

people daily in Canaan, a school, an orphanage, and six church plants—three of which are

located in Haiti.

In 2021, Pastor Mat launched a School of Ministry, focused on equipping future church planters

and pastors for gospel-centered ministry.

He resides on the North Shore with his wife and their five children.
