In Matthew 24, they marvel at the impressive stones of the temple. Jesus tells them that not one stone will be left upon another. As hard as that is to fathom, that is exactly what will happen during the Roman siege of Jerusalem in AD 70.
If Jesus is that precise about the temple – and that’s exactly what happened – how much more should we take what He says seriously?
As Jesus answers their further questions, He addresses three areas: religious deception, political upheaval, and natural disasters. He also warns against false messiahs.
The bottom line? He doesn’t want us to be troubled in spite of all the things we see going on around us. Jesus is where we place our hope and trust and He’s got us!
