Dr. Jim Tolle is the Senior Pastor of The Church On The Way, the First Foursquare Church of Van Nuys, California. Pastor Jim, with his wife Alice at his side has been in ministry since 1979, when he graduated from L.I.F.E. Bible College, after serving with the United States Army in Viet Nam. Like many who have grown up in ministry at The Church On The Way, Jim started on our staff as a janitor, while attending college. He later became the Single Adults Pastor before being sent as a Missionary to South America.
Pastor Tolle has been a staff pastor, senior pastor, missions director, church planter, conference speaker, radio and television host, and pastor of one of the largest Spanish-speaking congregations in North America. He currently broadcasts two daily radio programs in Spanish and is an Instructor at Facultad de Teologia, a Spanish-language training school for ministry on our campus. He also serves as the District Supervisor of Distrito Sur de California, consisting of 40 Spanish-speaking Foursquare churches in Southern California. His broad experience and prophetic gifts make him in demand in ministry and leadership roles around the world.
With the continued expansion of vision and ministry at The Church On The Way, Pastor Tolle has embraced a devoted Pastoral Staff of more than 30 devoted and Biblically-trained man and women to assist him in ministering to our English and Hispanic congregations. We continue as "one church, speaking two languages, ministering at three locations, and preaching the Foursquare Gospel." Like the early church at Antioch, The Church On The Way enjoys a strong team of gifted leaders joining with Pastor Tolle, including Executive Pastor Doug Andersen and Senior Associate Pastors Dan Hicks and Ken Pientka, along with Founding Pastor Jack Hayford and Senior Associate Pastor Dan Hicks, to provide our primary teaching team.
