From Bitter to Better!

In this sermon, Pastor Dr. Herbert Ward centers on moving “from bitter to better” by replacing self-reliance with trust in God. He emphasizes the importance of trusting the Lord fully instead of leaning on personal understanding - Proverbs 3:5. He used the story of Naomi and her family who left God’s covering during famine by going to Moab, leading to loss, bitterness, and spiritual consequences.


Dr. Ward warns us that straying from God’s will can create fear, shame, broken covenant, and bitterness. He concludes the sermon by encouraging us to hold fast to God who is our safest covering, and Jesus who can transform bitterness into lasting spiritual “better.”

About Pastor Dr. Herbert Ward, Sr.

Pastor Dr. Herbert Ward, Sr. currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Gospel House Ministries, Inc. Gospel House Ministries is an outreach-based ministry that was co-organized with his wife, Pastor Dr. Brenda in November 2008.

Dr. Ward, Sr. is a God-anointed prayer warrior and is an astute teacher and preacher of the Gospel of Jesus, the Christ (“The Good News”). He consistently demonstrates his love for Christ through obedience to the will of God, his love for his family, church family and the lost. He is adamantly committed to educating God’s children Biblically. Together, he and his wife, Pastor Dr. Brenda, have three sons, two daughters, and seven grandchildren.
